It's Harder to Become a Ham Today than 65 Years Ago
How many times have you heard an old-timer complain that it was harder to become a “real” ham back in the day? You know the type — the ones who roll their eyes at today’s newcomers, convinced that the hobby used to be “legitimate” only if you worked harder for it. Well, I am here to say they have it wrong. Becoming a ham today is much more difficult than it ever was 65 years ago.
