Ham Radio Now Interviews Past FEMA Administrator
Craig Fugate, KK4INZ, was the FEMA Administrator over the course of the Obama presidency and was a vocal proponent of the public service communications provided by Amateur Radio Operators. The February 21, 2017, episode of Ham Radio Now was dedicated to an interview of KK4INZ; during this interview he discusses what Amateur Radio Operators need to do in the future to remain a valuable public service asset during emergencies.
New Meeting Location
After meeting for more than 19 years at the Cass County Annex building (in a space which was previously the Cass County Emergency Operations Center) the Red River Radio Amateurs are moving to the West Fargo City Hall.
The March ARES Meeting, Club Meeting, and Testing Session will be held at club’s new meeting location. Attendees should enter through the north doors adjacent to the 4th Ave E parking lot.
The Red River Radio Amateurs would like to thank the City of West Fargo for providing them with a new meeting location and the Cass County Government for hosting them in the past.

Inexpensive Chinese radios, such as those produced by Baofeng Technologies are popular as starter radios due to their low cost. They are also used as disposable or spare/back-up radios.
